The Campaign Lounge is a collaborative effort to investigate the impact of the internet and related technologies on society. As industrialized countries are in the middle of a process that will permanently alter the way we communicate information in a society, the need for systematic research is intense. Specifically, the project will focus on the impact of the Internet on the communication process in the following areas:
01. What is the Internet's impact on democratic debate?
02. How does the Internet benefit democratic participation?
03. Furthermore, the Campaign Lounge will provide a website to bring together the latest findings and commentaries on the above issues, as well as a guide to available data sources and scholarly reference material.
The Campaign Lounge is focusing on political campaigns online. Currently underway: an analysis of the 2010 race for Mayor of New Orleans 2010.
